There is a process you can go through which can work, but there is also
a rare condition where nothing the user can do will bring it back.

My main JBL is SN JB-L06283 and it is still going strong.

The things (that I have read posts where) it got it working again are:

1. Reseting the JBL while you have it connected to your PC with the USB
cable.

2. Removing the batteries for X# of hours and resetting before and after.

3. Using the Diagnostic Screen to Restore the factory defaults.

4. Flashing the firmware (after #3)

One thing that always works, if it is still under warranty, is to get an RMA from
tech support and have it replaced by Ectaco.

Luck;
Ken

Re:JetBook Lite

The JBL generally resets when the batteries are plugged out for more than 2 seconds.
I think I remembered because the date was reset, a proof that the device's bios/internal clock was completely left without power.

Sometimes when you messed with the internal files the JBL does not boot, because it's waiting for a disk response of a deleted file.

in the JBL you can not delete anything, except for your own data like books or picture or music, and occasionally some of the hashing files the device makes that are linked to some of the books.

There's also a possibility if you uploaded some books to the internal memory that the JBL runs out of space.
It's recommended to have at least *some*MBs of free memory available, forgot how much.
I never uploaded a single book to the JB's internal memory, just deleted most of the books that came with them, or moved them to my desktop, where I could always transfer them to an SD card.

Try deleting some books if you run out of space.

If you still have plenty of space available, try a fw install.

Try putting in new batteries too. The device does not charge batteries over USB.

If that doesn't do the trick, it's RMA time.

If the OP can see the internal memory, with the condition he was reporting, it
would be a very good sign. If so he can format the partition that his OS sees
as the internal memory and check for and correct file system errors.

Luck;
Ken

[/quote]

Hi,

Please do not take over another persons topic about the jetBook Lite. Please hit the 'new thread' button to submit any issues.

It seems you have the latest version. Please do the following

1) Try to reset the jetBook with the button on the bottom.
2) Put the book on the hard drive of the device AND a micro SD card. Does it work on one and not the other?
3) Try a different book in the same format.
4) If this does not work please start a new thread with the issue. Also contact customer support at support@ectaco.com
